Prior to the launch of Vaste, Frédérique and Yannic owned the commercial interior design firm F&Y which offered custom development and fabrication services. Over the years the partners developed a variety of furniture pieces within the parameters of their projects. These became the impetus for the creation of Vaste. In 2020 Frédérique and Yannic joined forces with Frédéric Bouin in order to help push the models into final designs and bring them to market.

Vaste is influenced by Nordic nature and its material resources, by the local cultural heritage and traditional architecture, as well as by the amalgamation of craftsmanship and new manufacturing and design technologies. The Vaste collections offer a refreshing new look for Canadian craftsmanship bearing the imprint of our climate, our territory and the cultures that evolve there.
